Since I never really do characters I thought it would be fun to do at least part of one today. Still working on the scarf getting cloth to look right but overall I'm pretty okay with it.
This is just my little spot on the interwebs to keep a "journal" of my daily art successes and more often failures. A place where wips thrive to show just how much more work needs to be done every single day in order to turn mistakes into artwork for games...because art is never finished, only abandoned and games are never done, only shipped.

Day 1 (week long challenge)
Day 1 of my week long challenge of doing a random sculpt/model and texture turned out not too shabby. definitely would like to continue working on this more at some point but ran out of time today.
Concepting the idea for the door itself took the longest today, modeling wasn't too bad and texturing wasn't bad either. Definitely would like to fix up the diffuse and normal maps and maybe give it a proper building and stoop attachment!

updates
Some more progress on the grave stone environment. Getting there but still a lot to be done, finishing the leaves on the tree and adding more ground foliage, also the bark texture on the tree then I'll be done modeling and texturing! Just need to do the Skydome, wind effects, ribbon, and fireflies after that which should be much quicker. Figuring out a lot about how to make the edge of grass look like.

More of the sculpting and texturing is now complete and I began to pop things into UDK as well. Currently I was working on figuring out the exact shots I would like to use and I think this is the silhouette I'll be using to continue forward.

Starting to be pretty happy with how the model is feeling overall so I've moved on and started my base coat to begin texturing.
